Woolacombe Beach Sunday Walk.

DSC07137A rather cold Sunday walk along the beach this afternoon with my wife and twins.  Trying to gain some inspiration for a large multimedia picture.  The beaches around North Devon are just wonderful and I’ve been looking toward painting a large composition of a beach with a big dramatic sky.  The colours were really punchy today with the full winter sunlight so hopefully I’ve managed to get some photographic reference down.  This photograph was taken on Putsborough Beach looking towards a sunny Woolacombe in the distance.  We’re very lucky to live in such a wonderful part of the country.

Crow Point Between The Storms.

Mixed media painting using acrylic, watercolour & pastel (530mm x 370mm).
A wonderfully exposed beach and dune area where the rivers Taw & Torridge meet in North Devon.  Usually quiet and not too crowded.  It’s also a nature reserve and training area for the Royal Marines.  It is slowly being eroded by the elements along with its ship wrecks.  Please see my The Sea Mack at Crow Point pen and ink drawing.  The picture on the left is the home of it’s new owner a perfect setting I think.
