Last Night at the Moose.

What a great night at the White Moose in Barnstaple, North Devon. A well run and packed venue thanks to Stella & Co. Sadly this is the last exhibition for the Moose and it was an honour to be asked to show for the final night with Adrian Beasley & Stephen Raff. The three of us have a present project called BLACK ARTS so perhaps watch this space. This was for me the final exhibition of a very busy year having exhibited at the Hatherleigh Festival with thanks to Josie Lloyd, The Plough in Torrington thanks to Peter Stiles and with the annual North Art Trek 2019. Now time to take a break and perhaps produce some new images. Many thanks Al.

Oyster Falls.

A day off and it’s raining like a monsoon so I decided to do an acrylic sketch of Oyster Falls at Croyde in North Devon, 650 x 450mm. I find it quite difficult to keep my brushstrokes honest and succinct so by using this type of sketch work I attempt to escape my more illustrative style.
I like placing vapour trails in some of my skies, it’s a sort of reminder of my past travels and adventures. Al

North Devon Art Trek 2019

To start Art Trek this year Adrian BeasleyStephen Raff and Al Brown will be holding an exhibition at The Old School used by The Pilton Art Group, beside Pilton Church.  This is also near to the Ladywell in Pilton, Barnstaple EX31 1QT.  The evening is a preview of our work Adrian & Stephen are both photographers and myself a multimedia artist.  Should be an interesting evening including Adrian’s music and you’ll be pleased to know that drinks will also be available!

Hatherleigh Festival 2019.

8EAB983F-D327-4593-ACCB-E526367CDA37I have just completed four highly enjoyable days at this year’s Hatherleigh Festival and parted with a few paintings.  More importantly I’ve met new people, artists and musicians.  I’m hoping that the contacts I’ve made here will help further my artistic endeavours in the future.  There are so many creative and enthusiastic people here you can see why the town is known as a hub of creativity.  I’ve received such positive feedback about my work my confidence can only grow, so if you’ve never visited this wonderful town then do so you’re in for a great surprise.  I’d just like to say thanks to Josie, Mick and Alan for your generosity.  Al
