An acrylic on gesso panel 37 x 37″. After spending a rather enjoyable day on Exmoor looking for herds of deer we made our way back home via Countisbury Hill. From a curve on the A39 road I saw this striking Autumnal sky, muted colours and dark shaddows. I took this picture on my iPhone and here it is in paint. Al

From the tollroad to the carpark then on to Crow Point along the boardwalk. Here you can see the old ruined lighthouse and some WW2 concrete creations. It was here that the D Day landings were rehearsed and secret weapons perfected. Even today the odd ordinance sometimes reveals themselves after high tides!

The old wreck of the Sea Mack at Crow Point in North Devon. Slowly over the years it’s been gradually falling to bits with each push of the tide. I’ve been trying to find earlier pictures and infomation regarding this boat so if anyone can help please contact me! Al

What a great night at the White Moose in Barnstaple, North Devon. A well run and packed venue thanks to Stella & Co. Sadly this is the last exhibition for the Moose and it was an honour to be asked to show for the final night with Adrian Beasley & Stephen Raff. The three of us have a present project called BLACK ARTS so perhaps watch this space. This was for me the final exhibition of a very busy year having exhibited at the Hatherleigh Festival with thanks to Josie Lloyd, The Plough in Torrington thanks to Peter Stiles and with the annual North Art Trek 2019. Now time to take a break and perhaps produce some new images. Many thanks Al.
This is a link for short videos whilst setting up for The Dark Side Of The Moose.

Just dropped off my work for Friday’s Exhibition at the White Moose gallery in Barnstaple, North Devon. Tomorrow’s task to hang all the work from the artists of the Black Arts and get them in line! Al

Just playing around with Adobe on my laptop. I find this quite a good way to play with composition and colour selection. Either presketch or Adobe, after all they’re all tools available to the artist. It’s also a lot of fun and for me doesn’t take very long at all! Al

An end of the year exhibition of the Black Arts who are Adrian Beasley, Stephen Raff and myself Al Brown. I decided to take a trip out to the old Winkleigh Aircraft Control Tower with my son. This base was built as an airfield for the second world war in 1939 and included secret Black Ops. I decided to produce a photoshop of this building as seen above. Al
