Pen & Ink drawing of the Sea Mack. The wrecked ship lies at Crow Point in North Devon and is gradually deteriorating under the exposed beach and heavy tides. Soon to be no more I think. In colour the boat is brightly coloured with many coats of paint. Not a lot is know about this boat and it is referred to as, a fishing boat, a barge and a ferry tug. If anyone has any more information I’d love to know it’s full history.
This pen and ink illustration is now a signed print and is available from albrownartist.com.
Another mixed media of Saunton Beach in North Devon (820mm x 430mm). With distant storm clouds over Bideford Bar and Westward Ho.
Pilton Church February 2014. My local church just behind where I live and twice a week we hear the bells. Not a religious person but I love walking around the old graveyard here. I am still trying to find a printer/scanner big enough to manage this picture. My intention is to make a run of limited additions.
Pen & Ink drawing of wind blown trees by an old gate at the top of North Lane nr Georgham, North Devon. Along this road you can visit some the finest beaches in the UK. Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Saunton. This is now in print as a limited addition.
Last of the day’s sunlight on the Red Lion Hotel in Clovelly’s Harbour. North Devon, England. Pen and ink drawing the original photo and sketches made during the Annual Clovelly Lobster Festival. This is now available as a limited edition print.
Unison Pastels are my favourite chalks (720mm x 490mm) Saunton Beach in North Devon. With approaching storm clouds. I often like to add trails left by aircraft in the skies (top right) I like the idea of people flying abroad for adventure!
Four pictures selected for an exhibition. Buttercups at Manning’s Pit near Pilton. The wreck of the Sea Mack at Crow Point. Surfers at Saunton Beach. Abbotsham Cliffs near Westward Ho. All quite large compositions.
Watercolour, acrylic & pastel (490mm x 560mm) Early morning walk along the River Barle on Exmoor, with the dew on the grass and early morning mist. A beautiful days walk of 10 miles then back to Withypool.
This is a mixed media painting of a wonderful stretch of English countryside near to where I live in Pilton, North Devon, England. There is a rather sad fate hanging over it’s head as developers are hoping to build a housing estate on it. For all residents this is a terrible thing to happen as most of us have spent our childhoods playing in the river, fields and woods of this beautiful area. Let’s hope it stays that way for our children to enjoy too.
